Power of the Purse 2025

As the holiday season approaches, we invite you to shop with purpose. While searching for the perfect gifts for your loved ones, consider supporting the Women’s Fund of the Blue Ridge (WFBR) by purchasing an item to include in our 2025 Power of the Purse Silent Auction.

The Power of the Purse event raises vital funds that directly support WFBR’s annual grant cycle, which allows us to invest in transformative programs that empower women and girls across Ashe, Avery, and Watauga counties.

By purchasing designer handbags, sunglasses, jewelry, or gift cards from local businesses, you’re helping make this possible.

This year, we want to put extra focus on uplifting the incredible women-owned or operated businesses in our community.

These businesses have always supported WFBR by donating auction items to our event, and now, after the challenges brought by Hurricane Helene, they need our help more than ever. By purchasing an auction item from one of these local businesses, you are directly supporting women entrepreneurs who contribute to the vibrancy of our community, and helping them recover their businesses from the negative impacts of Helene.

You can drop off items at our office at 895 State Farm Road, Suite 404-10, Boone, NC, or call 828-264-4002 or email [email protected], and we will pick up your donation directly from the store.

Any purchased item or gift card you provide to WFBR will receive a donation recognition letter for your in-kind donation.
