Cathy was born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida before she and her family moved to Blowing Rock, where she developed a real love of the mountains and the people. She attended Watauga High School and Appalachian State University. Upon graduation, Cathy relocated to Atlanta and worked for the Peachtree World of Tennis and after 2 years, landed a job at the Ladies Professional Golf Association in Daytona Beach, Florida. For 25 years, Cathy traveled the world meeting the most incredible people ranging from presidents to world leaders, experiencing amazing adventures along the way.

After retiring from the LPGA, Cathy moved to Adelaide, Australia, to join her new husband. Upon her return, she settled back in Blowing Rock and began a new adventure working as the Vice President of Business Development for the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce. While in Florida, Cathy spent a lot of time volunteering with charities/non-profits including the Komen Foundation, FLA Tennis Foundation, Council on Aging, as well as others.

Cathy has a daughter, Brooke, who lives in Florida with her family which includes 2 grandsons, AJ and Cooper.

Cathy has always enjoyed being involved in her community and giving back. Women’s issues are of great importance and she is encouraged by the vast amount of support in the High Country.
